About Joyce Wood

New England artist Joyce Wood has painted watercolors since 1983. She has studied watercolors with Roberta Thresher and George Shedd, A.W.S. Her work often depicts traditional impressionistic landscapes with special attention to detail mostly in its architecture and animal life.

A recipient of numerous awards, most recently the Gold Medal from the New England Watercolor Society. Joyce also won the Robb Sagendorph Memorial Prize for art from the Copley Society of Boston in 1989. Her work hangs in many public and private collections through out the United States.

In addition to being an artist, Joyce is also a registered nurse for the past 17 years. She maintains her studio in her Wakefield home with her husband and beagle, Jesse James.
